Greenpeace blocks unloading of Russian gas in Finland | Abroad

“It is a cargo ship carrying liquefied natural gas – LNG – from Russia,” said Olga Vaisanen, spokeswoman for the Finnish group Gasum, importer of the blocked supply.

The action started around 7 a.m. local time. Several activists climbed on the ship’s loading arm. “It is totally unacceptable that Russian gas is still allowed to circulate in Finland six months after Putin invaded Ukraine,” said Greenpeace activist Olli Tiainen.

Last week, a similar action by Greenpeace took place in Nynäshamn, Sweden, near Stockholm.
