“Machina/The Machines of God” by the Smashing Pumpkins is one of the most ambitious works in Billy, Sardon: William Patrick Corgan. 25 years after the publication, the Smashing Pumpkins set up their concept that was originally planned as a double album – as it was always intended, according to Corgan.
The Reissue is definitely one: extensive! The Reissue-Boxset comes 80 songs on eight vinyls, new mixes, revised artwork and a redesigned narrative (including new track order). The title, slightly pretentious as usual with Corgan now: “Machina – Aranea Alba Editio ”. It is available Exclusively in the shop of Corgans tea shop Madame Zu’s, where you can pre -order. The whole thing is not cheap, on the contrary: the whole thing costs € 296.95. Even for hard -boiled fans, quite a chunk.
Smashing Pumpkins: Information about the “Machina”-Reissue
The new edition combines Smashing Pumpkins’ “Machina/The Machines of God” and the later published “Machina II” to the double album, when it was originally planned. Front man Billy Corgan not only brought the songs into a new order he intended, but also remixed and remnanted completely. In total, the box comprises 80 tracks (48 tracks from “Machina” and 32 bonus tracks, outtakes and live performances) to eight 180g LPs.
