Gianluigi Donnarumma, who was transferred from French giant Paris Saint-Germain to Premier League team Manchester City at the beginning of the season, was rewarded for his high-level performance with a prestigious award. The 26-year-old goalkeeper was awarded the “Best Goalkeeper of the Year 2025” award given by FIFA.

With this success, Donnarumma became the first Italian goalkeeper to achieve this title after Gianluigi Buffon, who won the award in 2017.

Manchester City Club also congratulated its star goalkeeper with a post on its social media account. The English team’s statement included the following: “Gianluigi Donnarumma was selected as the 2025 FIFA Men’s Best Goalkeeper. Congratulations.”
