A clown welcomes all guests at the Ruiterhuys in Castricum with great enthusiasm. You walk through the scent of the stable, while at the same time you board a festive setting with a ball box, cupcakes and garlands, surrounded by the photo flashes of the press. The opportunity? The book presentation and ‘probably the first celebrated birthday of a sheep’, says Emma’s friend Maurits Hazeleger.
Glitter, glamor and farm. It is a bit like the life of Emma La Croix, writer and granddaughter of Henny Huisman, is currently looking. She grew up on a farm full of horses, chickens, sheep and ducks that ran in and around the house. And now she is in the spotlight, partly thanks to the Tiktok success of Jaapie Het Schaapie.
“We owe so much to this sheep,” says her friend Maurits in a chat. “We are recognized on the street and people shout:” Jaapie! ” So yes, we are going to milk this nice and commercially, “he jokes.
