In the Hospitality Ferrari of the Austria GP it is difficult to hide some enthusiasm. In Spielberg on the SF-125 a new fund will finally make its debut, designed to restore competitiveness and, above all, predictability to single-seater 2025. That of Hamilton and Leclerc was a long wait-the latest noteworthy news dated back to the Bahrain GP-and Lewis was now cloudy: “We need new pieces!”. But in Maranello it served time: the technical staff led by Loic Serra wanted to analyze the data collected on the track (the Sakhir package had instead been studied mostly at the simulator) in an attempt to straighten a season far from expectations, and the Austrian update is the first step of a series of news that will urge the SF-25.

Steps forward

“I expect steps forward – Leclerc confessed to the updated fund – we are trying to go in the right direction”. But the Monegasque, who does not want to burn too high expectations, does not unbalance: “I don’t know how potential we will be able to take advantage of our car in the coming weeks. I honestly do not expect things that change radically”. Despite the updated fund, Charles will not still take part in the first free practice of Friday, “a choice programmed for some time, on a relatively short track that does not require too many laps before finding the rhythm”. At its point there will be the Swedish driver of Formula 2 Beganovic who had already guided the SF-25 in the first free practice session of Bahrain.

Hamilton enthusiasm

Cautious approach also for Lewis Hamilton, who does not expect “radical changes”, although “enthusiastic about the work done in the factory”. “I am really happy to have updates – explains English – I have to thank all the guys who have worked hard to develop them. As for their impact on the track, we have an idea of the load that we should get, but it is still early to give judgments”. English – you know – had been waiting for some time in the car, in the hope of being able to turn a season that he himself struggles to comment. “I don’t want to hide – confesses the Ferrari driver – but we had several problems, both me as a pilot and with the car. The positive note are the progress we are making and honestly that people notice it or not I am not interested in”.

Future Ferrari

But there will be not only the fund. With the continuation of the European season, the Maranello technicians planned the introduction of further correctives, including the highly anticipated rear suspension. “We have planned further interventions that will debut during the season – confirms Leclerc – even if a large part of the team is already working on the 2026 car. Obviously next year it will be very important and I have already tried a first base of the next car. It is not exactly among the funniest that I have driven, but it is still in the initial phase”. Confirmations on future interventions at the suspension plant also come from Hamilton: “With Loic (Serra editor’s note) And the whole team I am working on the suspensions so as to be able to reduce the understeer “. And then again on 2026:” Let’s try to learn from this year’s mistakes to ensure that next season is the best ever. The new car? I started to guide her yesterday at the simulator. “
