Bayern’s club management is already planning personnel beyond the season. Several players are in the final year of their contracts. According to a report, not everyone will stay.

The list is long – and it brings excitement to FC Bayern’s squad planning: seven player contracts are expiring with the record champions next summer. Especially with two professionals, the signs point to farewell.

As “Bild” reports, the contracts of Leon Goretzka and Raphaël Guerreiro will no longer be extended.

Goretzka would therefore like to stay. He identifies with the club and has repeatedly asserted himself in recent years, even though he was considered a sales candidate internally on several occasions. He is also currently impressive in terms of sport when he is on the pitch. But the competition in the midfield has grown: In addition to the established Joshua Kimmich, young players like Aleksandar Pavlović and Tom Bischof are entering the team.

The situation is similar with Raphaël Guerreiro. The Portuguese is very valuable for coach Vincent Kompany because of his versatility. But the former Dortmund player often struggles with injuries and fluctuations in form and is now 31 years old. Internally, according to the report, there are many indications that FC Bayern will not extend the expiring contract.

The situation is different for the other players who are in their final year of contract.

In the case of Dayot Upamecano, FC Bayern is still interested in an extension. But the conversations are difficult. Several top clubs – including Liverpool, Real Madrid and Inter Milan – are showing interest.

An extension for Serge Gnabry is also less concrete, but not ruled out. Before the season, a farewell was still considered likely – but the 30-year-old is currently showing strong performances in his new role on the number 10.

If Gnabry maintains his form, a new contract is possible. However, only on the condition that he accepts a reduction in salary – he is currently one of the top earners in the squad with an estimated 19 million euros annually.

Manuel Neuer’s original plan was to end his career after the season. But the 39-year-old currently looks in top shape and is consistently delivering strong performances. A further extension is suddenly conceivable again.
