Gordon is quite pissed off at his neighbor in Blaricum because she informed the press about the closure of his coffee shop Blushing. “I wasn’t happy about that at all. I texted her.”

After two years, Gordon is once again closing the doors of the Blaricum branch of his coffee shop Blushing. The news came as a bolt from the blue last week and even his staff was not fully aware of it yet. Goor explains Radio 10 that the news came out too early because of his loose-lipped neighbor.

Not amused

Gordon is here not amused about. “I didn’t really intend to release that yet, because my staff hadn’t been informed yet, but my lovely neighbor from the restaurant next to me felt it necessary to tell the press, so I wasn’t happy about that at all.”

He continues: “I texted her and I made it clear to her that I was not happy with that, but I also immediately said to my staff: ‘Guys, let’s get together, it has gained momentum.’”

‘Miss? No!’

It all happened very quickly, says Gordon. “Just before my holiday an offer came, I thought about it for two weeks and then I thought: yes, you know, I’m just going to do it.”

He continues: “Am I going to miss it? No. Catering is not easy, is it? Let’s face it. It is always a hassle to get good staff, prices have risen bizarrely in the past year. If you now know what you pay for an avocado and an egg… It yields much less in the end.”

Different tent

Gordon sets his sights on the future. “It will be a completely different place in Blaricum. I have done well, so I am very happy with that, and I still have my two businesses in Amsterdam. I can now focus on that.”

He is currently busy with his musical comeback with the men of Re-play. “Thursday is the TV premiere with Eva Jinek.”
