Radio host Ville Tanskanen resigned about three years ago and has grown a lot as a father since then.
Radio host Ville Tanskanen37, opens up to her social media followers about the years after her divorce. Tanskanen divorced his spouse in 2022.
Tanskanen admits in his Instagram post that at the time of the breakup, he couldn’t have imagined what kind of growth he would have ahead of him.
– Suddenly alone with 3- and 1-year-old children. All possible parenting on your shoulders. Energy went into disaster prevention. For building a life, the host says.
– One boy is wearing diapers and the other is going somewhere. All that “mechanical work”, as one father put it, beat me to the punch. Growing up and becoming a father began. A school I didn’t aspire to, but I got in, he adds.
At the same time, Tanskanen struggled with the change in life after the divorce.
– A lovely apartment in Arabianranta changed to a small two-bedroom. I was ashamed. When we moved, my son asked “Dad, why do we have such a big house now?”. Words I won’t forget, the host recalls.
– The savings went. Partly for everyday life, partly for escaping it. Loans in your neck. I started again from the beginning. This time as a father of two children, and not as a vandal from Vantaa, he describes.

Danskasen felt that all his friends were doing well just when he himself was at zero.
– One day, 10 euros were left from the salary. It was a pretty rough moment. Although it was all my own fault. A stable life changed to this.
– Then, as a fart-eyed erofai and He-Man, emotionally reduced to the level of a teenager, I dragged myself to the radio every morning to tell fart jokes. Hoping that maybe it will brighten someone’s day. I often asked my father to take care of sick children so I could go to work.
At some point, Tanskanen decided to survive. Little by little, Tanskanen’s new home has started to feel like home and he has realized that the path of three years of suffering has ended.
– My son said the other day that “dad, this is a nice home”. No more shacks, says Tanskanen.
– These three years have changed me in a way that the former Ville would not recognize. And that’s fine. Today I am one step closer to the word father or husband. One step at a time, he concludes.

Tanskanen told Iltalehti in April that he has shared custody with the mother of his children. The presenter admitted that everyday life with two small children is not always easy.
– You have to take care of everything by yourself, whether it’s washing clothes or dishes, Tanskanen said.
– I’ve learned to choose my battles, if you tear up your pants about everything, then no one has fun, he added.
