It cannot be otherwise than that Gordon is once again furious with Victor Vlam. The troubled entertainer has received a TV Knol for worst TV program of the year. “Very sour.”
Gordon has a very difficult relationship with the press and especially with TV critics. The singer also clearly hates Victor Vlam; the two already had a verbal altercation at the table at De Oranjezomer. The argument between the two men seems to be escalating, because Victor now ensures that Gordon wins the TV Knol for worst show of the year.
Knol for Goor
Each day before the Golden Televizier-Ring Gala, the so-called TV Knollen are announced, the fun prizes for the worst TV formats and presentations of the past TV season. Why? “So that ‘the ugliness’ of Dutch television is honored and the beauty is therefore appreciated even more,” says organizer Spreekbuis.
Who is on the jury? Mouthpiece owner Richard Otto, media journalist Rens Muller of De Gooi- en Eemlander and… Gordon critic Victor Vlam. Which program do they declare as the worst of the year? The soap opera This Is Me: Gordon.
Silly jokes
Why does the jury choose the Gordon soap? “Gordon is more acidic than a pot of Kesbeke in his own documentary, the jury was unanimous. The program showed a total emptiness of Gordon’s existence with showy scenes in Dubai and lame sex jokes where the laughing track was Gordon himself.”
The other nominees were Bar Laat, De Volgers, Power Slap and RTL Boulevard Summernight. But it became Gordon. TV authority Tina Nijkamp, who was allowed to announce this in her podcast, emphasizes – probably out of fear of reprisals from Gordon – on her analysis channel: “Ps I was NOT on the jury.”
Gijs also bad
The TV Knol for worst presenter goes to Gijs Groenteman. According to the jury in van Roosmalen & Groenteman, he manifests himself as an intellectual laughing stock and beats Kalvijn and Jan Versteegh.
“Where presenting a weekly talk show once stood for authority and journalistic stature, Groenteman reduces the role to an annoying neigh. Despite the lack of talent, he proves that you can nevertheless build a flourishing career at the public broadcaster.”
Biggest blunder
According to the jury, the biggest television blunder of the year is in the hands of Rob Goossens. He came into controversy by sending flirty messages to women other than his own girlfriend. “He provided text and explanation in RTL Boulevard and in passing gave a sneer to Linda de Mol, who, strangely enough, was cut out of the replay.”
The other nominees were jury member Victor Vlam himself (‘he unabashedly made a plea to Shownieuws why he is the perfect sidekick for Today Inside’), Wolter Kroes who forced Youp van ‘t Hek to sing on TV and Jan Slagter who dumped Özcan Akyol on television.
