Top Gun gets a sequel. The Top Gun film series starring Tom Cruise is getting a sequel. The first part of the film series was seen on the big screen in 1986, and the sequel, Top Gun: Maverick, was released in 2022. The third part was reported on by, among others, The Hollywood reporter. Top Gun: Maverick co-writer Ehren Kruger is currently rumored to be writing the script for the third installment of the film franchise. According to sources, Maverick director Joe Kosinski is also involved in the sequel project.
