112 had received several reports of a Renault Megane traveling in the wrong direction along state road 131-dir and then continuing, always in the opposite direction, on the median axis from Sestu towards Cagliari. The operations room of the police station immediately sent some police cars in an attempt to intercept the car driven by the 84-year-old, resident in Southern Sardinia. Some motorists traveling in the opposite direction, from the capital towards Sestu, managed to avoid it, but near Via Berlin the collision occurred with a Renault Clio driven by a 28-year-old. The two drivers were pulled from the cockpit by the firefighters and then rescued by the 118 operators. The images of the Clio with the front part destroyed in the impact are impressive. Staff from the state police and the local police of Cagliari were also on site and managed surveys and traffic.
