From the first minutes, Go Ahead was pushed back into its own half. The Germans, who, like Go Ahead, had six points after four games, put full pressure on and that resulted in a deserved lead for Stuttgart after twenty minutes.

Goalkeeper Jari de Busser gave the ball to Yassir Salah Rahmouni, but the only 19-year-old midfielder could do nothing with it and handed the ball in. Stuttgart responded alertly and played it out nicely through Jamie Leweling: 0-1. The number five of the Bundesliga wanted to push through, but striker Deniz Undav failed to increase the score.
Stuttgart won 2-0 against Feyenoord earlier this month and Undav scored the second goal in injury time. The second goal for the Germans came in the name of, again, Leweling on Thursday evening. After a long pass from Angelo Stiller, the left winger was able to easily pull in and finish coolly after half an hour. Mats Deijl stood there and looked at it.

The fact that the Germans did not rest with an even bigger lead was due to a good save by De Busser on a shot by Bilal El Khannouss. Just after halftime it was Melle Meulensteen who prevented the third goal with an excellent action. A bright spot for the Deventers was Oskar Sivertsen, who came on after 45 minutes and brought some life into the brewery.
Despite the Norwegian’s attacking drive, Go Ahead was still awarded the 0-3. Undav caught the ball on his chest after a cross and laid it perfectly for El Khannouss who netted the ball after an hour of play. Victor Edvardsen, who returned from a knee injury, had a chance to score a goal of honor fifteen minutes before the end, but forgot to put his leg out for a cross.
Just before the end it even became 0-4, completing the punishment. Go Ahead therefore remains at six points after five games.
