A few hours before the Mexican national team beat Canada in the semifinal of the Concacaf Nations League, Santiago made a fan happy to support him out of the team’s hotel.
After Wednesday’s training, Mexico returned to the hotel and Gimenez took time to meet the fans present. One of the supporters of “La Tricolor” asked for a birthday gift to the Bebote and Saints allowed him. “Give me your sweatshirt, Saints,” said a fan. “If it’s your birthday, I give it to you,” replied the attacker. “It’s mine, it’s mine,” another fan shouted, who in the end got the boss. Gimenez wanted to check if it was true that the birthday of the Mexican supporter fell right that day, so he asked him to exhibit an official identity document. After checking the information, Santiago took off the training sweatshirt to give it to the birthday boy.
