In collaboration with the Zoetermeer bakery Jongerius Bakker, we are organizing a local delicacy competition in the Zoetermeer neighborhood. Share your idea for a sweet or savory snack and who knows, it might soon be on the shelves at the bakery.
The local delicacy of Zoetermeer
For the competition we are looking for a timeless delicacy that will go down as the delicacy of Zoetermeer. Let your imagination run wild and share your idea with indebuurt. Whether it’s egg cakes with a flavour, muffins with chocolate pieces, cookies or cheese sticks with a twist, nothing is too crazy!
Zoetermeer butter village
Zoetermeer is nicknamed a butter village or town. This is because many butter farmers used to work there and we had our own Brinkers margarine factory. That is why we set an important condition for the competition that the local delicacy contains butter. A typical reference to the butter village of Zoetermeer!

Are you participating in our culinary competition? Nice! Please adhere to the following guidelines. The product is:
- a delicacy with butter
- cookie, cake, muffin, egg cake or puff pastry
- longer shelf life
- to package
- sweet or savory
This is how you participate
Submit your idea for a Zoetermeer local delicacy before February 1, 2026 by emailing [email protected]. Describe what is in it, what it looks like and why you chose this delicacy. Good to know: as a participant in the competition, you automatically agree to the promotional conditions below.
And after that?
The bakers of Jongerius Bakker and indebuurt assess the entries and make a selection. The three selected delicacies are baked by the bakers, after which a jury tastes them. Afterwards, Zoetermeer’s local delicacy is announced in the neighborhood and the bakers get to work. Because after that it will be for sale to everyone at the bakery!
