German pentathletes end EM without a medal

The German team finished the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Szekesfehervar, Hungary, without a medal.

Janine Kohlmann and Fabian Liebig (both Potsdam) had to give up due to injury when they were in the lead in the mixed relay.

The best German result in Hungary was the fifth place with the brothers Marvin and Patrik Dogue (Potsdam) and Pele Uibel (Berlin) in the men’s relay. The trio had won bronze at the World Championships in Alexandria, Egypt, at the end of July.

In Szekesfehervar, the controversial show jumping was still part of the program, after the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris a new discipline is to be introduced.
