First they play together in the national team, but then for Inters Yann Bisseck against his Munich colleagues from the DFB team. Fear and anxiety does not become him.

National team newcomer Yann Bisseck goes with a lot of confidence in the quarter-final duel of the Champions League between his club Inter Milan and Bayern Munich. “We are a strong group,” said the 24-year-old on Tuesday in the training camp of the German national team in Dortmund.

The former Cologne team showed respect for the upcoming opponent: “Bavaria has extremely strong players, at the front and back,” Bisseck explained. Nevertheless, he is optimistic: “It will not be easy. But we are well in shape, well trained and don’t have to be afraid. I think something will definitely go if we get our performance onto the pitch.”

The games will be held promptly after the international break. The first leg will increase in Munich on April 8, the second leg on April 16 in Milan. Where the DFB team is also competing against Italy in the quarter-final first leg of the Nations League (Thursday, 8:45 p.m.).

Bisseck initially wants to be in peace in the national team. “When you are there for the first time, you have patiently patient. I have to learn first,” said the former U21 captain. The central defender wants to learn a lot from defense chief Antonio Rüdiger.

In the long term, Bisseck has an eye on the 2026 World Cup. “This is definitely a goal, but a lot of things have to happen,” he said. At his club Inter Milan, he sees himself well positioned: “The defensive school in Italy is the best in the world, I have already learned a lot and there is still a lot to learn.”

He is particularly impressed by the high tactical claim: “In Italy there is a lot more emphasis on tactics, so you also have a 90-minute tactical training, you can also see that from the playing style of the Italians.”

This season, Bisseck has played 30 competitive games for Inter (1 goal, 3 templates).
