Gentle Mates is promoted to the VCT EMEA League. The French team secured their place in the European Valorant top league by winning the tournament called Ascension.
Gentle Mates’ success came as a bit of a surprise, after all, the team faced favorite and previously tournament-unbeaten roster Apeks in the Ascension finals.
However, the outsider role seemed to inspire the champion of the French regional championship in Valorant. In an impressive way, the e-athletes played round after round on the way to a 3:0 victory that was safe for a long time.
“It’s unbelievable and I have no words,” said Gentle Mates captain Beyazıt “beyAz” Körpe after the success in the winner’s interview in the league stream. “We won!”
As a tournament winner, the French esports organization will receive a place in the VCT EMEA League, the highest Valorant league in the EMEA region, which also includes Europe, in 2024 and 2025.
