Tomas Oral and the Grasshopper Club Zurich go separate paths after this season. The Association of Swiss Super League thanked the 52-year-old “for his tireless efforts and for achieving the clear goal, league maintenance.” In Zurich, where he coached the Benno Schmitz, Sonny Kittel, Nestory Irankunda and Bryan Lasme, which was previously active in Germany, and since then got 1.22 points per game. In autumn, the Grasshoppers were in the last place in the table. Oral then entered the footsteps of about Thorsten Fink or Michael Skibbe, who also looked after Zurich as German coaches.

“From the beginning I came to GC with a clear mission: to secure the relegation. I am proud to have managed to do that. I would like to thank you for the trust that Alain and the entire club has shown me in this situation,” said Oral. Sports boss Alain Sutter said: “Tomas did an excellent work in a challenging phase. I quickly got to know him as a strong trainer and very pleasant people. For the coming season, however, the club wants to start with a new sporting orientation including a complete new cast positions and fresh impression.
