Al Aly and Palmeiras had a heated game at the club World Cup. But suddenly the game had to be interrupted and the stadium had to be cleared.

The game between the Egyptian club Al Aly and Palmeiras from Brazil at the club World Cup had to be interrupted for the time being during the second half. Palmeiras had just taken the lead in the 62nd minute through a goal by José López, then it didn’t go on.

Even before the game there was a severe weather warning, then the situation was probably so acute that for security reasons, those responsible decided to stop the game for the time being – although the sun was still shining at that time. The audience in the Metlife stage of New Jersey were also asked to leave the stadium for the time being. The interruption continued around 50-minute interruption. Curiously, in the meantime, not a single raindrop had fallen.

It is not the first time that a game at the club World Cup has to be interrupted. The game between Pachuca and RB Salzburg in Cincinnati, which took place in Cincinnati last night (German time), had been interrupted for an hour and a half due to a strong thunderstorm.
