BURAK ELMAS: AN IMPORTANT PROJECT FOR GALATASARAY’S FUTURE AND TURKEY
President Burak Elmas, who started his words by saying, “Galatasaray, the club of firsts, is breaking new ground again,” said, “This important project, which was signed during the period of our 37th president, the late Mustafa Cengiz, and realized with the efforts of Yusuf Günay from the same administration, coincided with our term. I would like to thank Mustafa Cengiz and the board of directors. I would also like to thank Enerjisa Enerji. They have concluded this important project in a very short time. They have signed an important project for the future of Galatasaray and Turkey. One of our important projects is to activate much more functions in the stadium. “We have a project to transform it into a commercial area that produces income items other than match days. In this direction, the project we made with Enerjisa is of great importance. This solar power plant will generate significant income at the end of 25 years. In fact, with the start of the project, there is an advantage in energy costs. This is the solar power plant, It is the first performance-based project built on a roof in Turkey. I would like to thank Enerjisa again,” he said.

Pointing out that they are in search of partners who can work with them for a long time in every field, Elmas said, “We see Enejisa as one of these partners. We have a working group with them in other facilities to determine which projects can be worked together in the field of energy. Innovation in energy is very important. Experienced in certain sectors such as this. Generating income in certain sectors together with important partners is an important issue in terms of preparing Galatasaray for the future. We are working on how we can make sustainable energy projects, how we can produce projects related to long-term energy,” he said.

Stating that this project meets 63 percent of the electricity need in the stadium, Galatasaray Vice President Bikem Kanık also gave the following sentences:

We have been eating out of pocket for 50 years, the resources of our children and grandchildren. There was a saying by Barack Obama: ‘We are the first generation to feel the effects of climate change and the last generation to change it’. We wanted to carry this principle in terms of sustainability so that we do not limit ourselves to sports anymore. MURAT PINAR: A PROJECT THAT WILL PROVIDE MORE THAN 1 BILLION REVENUES AT THE END OF 25 YEARS
Pointing out that the project will generate more than 1 billion TL in revenue at the end of 25 years, Murat Pınar said, “Sustainability is to take new areas of responsibility for the benefit of the country and for future generations to live outside of today’s problems. This project was such a project. One of the most important issues of energy during and after the pandemic. It is obvious that in this sense, to be able to consume on the spot. What you produce will be consumed on the spot. We think that the project we made with Galatasaray is an example both for the country, for Galatasaray, for Turkish sports and for future generations. “This is a power plant that will meet the electricity needs of a town of 2,000 households. Pointing out that there are new project preparations, Pınar said, “When we talk about energy, we don’t just talk about Turkey. Energy is an important issue now. For this, each individual needs to think about his/her own part for the future.”
ERSİN ESENTÜRK: WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED A WONDERFUL PROJECT IN A VERY SHORT TIME
Emphasizing that the world’s largest solar power plant on the roof was built, Ersin Esentürk said, “We have implemented a wonderful project in a very short time. Galatasaray will benefit greatly from this. I would like to thank all my friends who contributed. 4.5 million kilowatts of electricity will be produced annually from this project.”
After the speeches, Guinness Book of Records referee and Turkey representative Şeyda Subaşı stated that 4.2 megawatts of electricity will be produced with 10,404 solar panels on the stadium, and thus the record passed from Brazil to Turkey. Subaşı presented his record certificate to Galatasaray President Burak Elmas and Enerjisa Enerji CEO Murat Pınar.
