Gabriel Clemens was eliminated from his first match at the Darts World Cup. A Welshman was too strong for the “German Giant”.

Gabriel Clemens failed early at the Darts World Cup. In the first round the “German Giant”, as Clemens is called, was seeded, but in round two he was thrown out. Clemens had to admit defeat to the Welshman Robert Owen 3:1 (2:3, 0:3, 3:1, 1:3) in sets.

The Welshman played strongly from the start and didn’t allow Clemens to get into the game well. The pressure on the German darter was already very high after the 0:2, but then “Gaga” suddenly got into the game better and reduced the score to 1:2. But the upward trend didn’t last long, Owen was able to win the next set again and thus move into the next round. For Clemens the Darts World Cup ended early.

Owen had already caused a surprise in round one and defeated the Dutchman Niels Zonneveld 3-1.
