Liverpool leaders FC Fulham received the second league this season at FC Fulham. Arne Slot’s team lost in West London after 26 unbeaten games in the Premier League in a competitive game just 2: 3 (1: 3).
Despite the bankruptcy, the Reds in the championship race keep a comfortable lead of eleven points on pursuers and city rival FC Arsenal, which had not already got beyond a 1-1 at FC Everton on Saturday. Fulham improves the eighth place in the table by winning and is only three points behind first place for European business.
Liverpool got the better start in Craven Cottage: Alexis Mac Allister put the guests in the lead in the 14th minute. But Fulham was little impressed and turned the game within 14 minutes. Ryan Sessegnon (23rd), Alex Iwobi (32nd) and Rodrigo Muniz (37th) met for the home side. The Reds presented themselves unusually prone to errors and without a punch. In round two, substitute Luis Díaz (72nd) gave hope again with the increasing guests. But above all, the former Bundesliga goalkeeper Bernd Leno secured the Cottagers under coach Marco Silva the home win until the last minute.
FC Southampton is the first relegation – as early as no other club in the history of the Premier League. The former club of coach Ralph Hasenhüttl lost 1: 3 at Tottenham Hotspur and can no longer be saved with just ten points. The distance from the climber to a saving place is 22 points – but Southampton has only seven remaining games.
