Ostend is preparing for ‘Ostend for Anker’, the annual maritime festival that traditionally attracts thousands of visitors to the coast. The central theme this year is ‘Working at Sea’.
“We want to give companies from the blue economy the opportunity to show what jobs there are, because there is a great demand for staff in that sector,” says Sofie Proot of Tourism Ostend. “At the same time, we continue to pay attention to classical shipping and crafts. The maritime history remains important.”
