International break in autumn is revolutionized

As early as 2023, FIFA decided to change the game calendar. He will come into force next year. Instead of two international game periods in autumn, there will only be a longer one.
The international break in September is over, European national teams have completed their World Cup qualifiers.
For the DFB-Elf, it continues against Luxembourg on October 10th, on October 13th the game is coming up in Northern Ireland. It will be the last time that caps take place in September and October – because the game calendar will be changed from 2026.
FIFA had already adopted the new frame painting in March 2023. According to this, there will only be a summarized international break in autumn from 2026. Instead of two separate phases in September and October, the national teams in 2026 will play four games in the period from September 23 to October 8.
For the Bundesliga, this means a longer interruption. During the new autumn break, fans have to do without club football for three weeks. In the 2026/27 season, the last match day before the break from September 18 to 20. The ball only rolls again on the weekend from 10 to October 12th.
Nevertheless, the reform also has advantages: The Bundesliga is no longer interrupted after the second matchday in September. Overall, the international time of time is even reduced-from four to three weeks for the four games so far.
The further storage periods remain unchanged. The November break is also scheduled for the period from November 9th to 17th in 2026, the March appointments are as before-in 2026 from March 23 to 31.
The FIFA international calendar now remains fixed by 2030. The distribution of international matches will no longer change, even if there can be minor deviations in the exact time frame.
