From 1. FC Köln: Witsel replacement at BVB approaching

Borussia Dortmund has probably already sealed the fourth transfer for the coming season: Salih Özcan comes from 1. FC Köln. The midfielder will probably cost BVB around ten million euros.

Things are happening in quick succession at Borussia Dortmund. After Niklas Süle, Nico Schlotterbeck (both defense) and Karim Adeyemi (attack), BVB has also made improvements in defensive midfield. According to consistent media reports, Salih Özcan is moving from 1. FC Köln to the Revierklub.

According to information from “Bild”, the 24-year-old Turkish national player already completed a medical check-up in Dortmund on Thursday and was then driven to the BVB premises for negotiations.

In the future, Özcan will probably compensate for the departure of Axel Witsel, who is leaving the black and yellow.

With strong performances, Özcan played a major role in the success of Cologne, who qualified for the Conference League as seventh in the table. His contract in Cologne runs until 2023. According to reports, the fee is between eight and ten million euros.

BVB: In addition to Özcan, Meyer will probably also come

In addition to Özcan, goalkeeper Alexander Meyer should also be in front of the BVB signature. The 31-year-old from Jahn Regensburg would take on the role of second man behind regular keeper Gregor Kobel.

Because Meyer’s contract in Regensburg expires at the end of the season, he could switch for free. After the departure of Marwin Hitz and Roman Bürki, there is a need for action at BVB in the goalkeeper position.
