Swiatek now meets Beatriz Haddad Maia on Thursday (08.06.23). The 27-year-old prevailed in her quarter-finals 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 against Ons Jabeur from Tunisia and is the first Brazilian in 65 years to be in one Grand Slam-Semifinals. The last time Maria Bueno was able to do this was in 1968 at the US Open.

Defending champion Swiatek remains in the course of the tournament at the classic clay court in Paris without losing a set. In the 2022 final she had dominated Gauff 6: 1, 6: 3, in 2020 she had secured her first title at the Stade Roland Garros.

Pütz/Kato in the mixed final

Davis Cup player Tim Pütz can hope for his first Grand Slam triumph in mixed. The 28-year-old tennis pro from Frankfurt/Main reached the final of the French Open with his Japanese partner Miyu Kato. In the semifinals, the duo defeated Aldila Sutjiadi from Indonesia and Matwe Middelkoop from the Netherlands 7:5, 6:0. The second set only lasted 17 minutes.
