Sabalenka saves time in contrast to the competition

Aryna Sabalenka – Amanda Anisimova 7: 5, 6: 3

There were three round of rounds in the women’s competition during the course of Sunday in Paris-everything was real three-set thrillers. The respective number of hours: 2:24, 2:30, 2:47. Aryna Sabalenka, the number one on the seed list, had no desire at all. Saving strength was her motto. Against Amanda Anisimova, Sabalenka consequently won after a hard -fought first set in the end after 1:32 hours with 7: 5 and 6: 3.

The tournament in Paris ends for Anisimova, who had stopped tennis sports in 2023 due to a burn outs. The American’s path is beautifully pointing up again. Sabalenka now meets Chinese Qinwen Zheng in the quarterfinals – and, unlike her, saved some strength.

Swiatek’s winning streak holds despite Disaster start

Elena Rybakina – Iga Swiatek 6: 1, 3: 6, 5: 7

From 24 Make 25! Iga Swiatek cannot be stopped at the French Open. The Paris winner from 2022, 2023 and 2024 is also in the quarter-finals this year and has already won her 25th game on the red ashes of the French capital in a row. If you looked at the scoreboard after 20 minutes in the Polish’s round of 16 against Elena Rybakina, you would not have thought that would have been possible.

Because at the beginning Rybakina, SWIATEK, was formal, after those 20 minutes already led 5: 0 (!) In the first set and finally secured round one after only 34 minutes with 6: 1. But Swiadek shook himself, now offered resistance and won sentence two with 6: 3. The third round finally became a high -class, highly exciting and highly intensive showdown, in which the Polish finally prevailed and thus meets Elina Svitolina in the quarterfinals.

Svitolina after wake -up call in the quarter -finals

Jasmine Paolini – Elina Svitolina 6: 4, 6: 7, 1: 6

The French Open are the last major tournament, which is still very classic in important decisions, traditionally on line judges and the chair referee. From, not from people here is still decided here. Sometimes, however, significantly simpler tasks are part of how the round of 16 between Jasmine Paolini and Elina Svitolina showed. But these can also have an enormous importance.

When Svitolina, who is now back in 14th place in the world rankings after her baby break, missed the beginning of the match and then led to the wrong side on the wrong side, she had to be “awakened” with triple “Elina, Elina, Elina” address by chair referee Marija Cicak. A wake -up call with effect: After the loss of the first sentence, the mom of the little Skai literally turned up, won the tie -break in the enormously exciting second set after three defeated match balls, made everything clear in the third set after 2:20 hours and is now in the quarter -finals.
