Franziska Preuss crowned her biathlon career with the victory in the overall World Cup. In an interview, the two -time world champion has now spoken about the way there and explained in this context how important the support of her partner Simon Schempp is.

Franziska Preuß arrived at the biathlon summit at the age of 31. The German ski hunter crowned the gold medal in the persecution in February at the World Cup in Lenzerheide. In March, the DSV athlete also grabbed the large crystal ball in a heartbeat finale.

In an interview with the International Biathlon Association IBU, Preuss revealed that she had to accept some privations for this success. The German winter athlete has repeatedly struggled with illness -related failures in recent years.

“I had an operation on my nose last March and of course I am very strict during the season. I don’t meet people inside, wear a mask, celebrated Christmas outside with the family, many small things that ultimately paid off,” said Preuss.

Partner Simon Schempp “very important”

The support of her partner Simon Schempp was always “very important”, said the biathlete. “Especially in all the years before that when I had so many problems with my body and my immune system,” said Prussia.

The German ski hunter also revealed her huge success in the overall World Cup. “I am still in this process. It could take a while,” said Preuss.

After her arrival at home, she first ate schnitzel with fries, made up for sleep and spoke to her partner about the final World Cup weekend in Oslo, explained the new biathlon queen. Now the well -deserved vacation is on the program.
