Ajax not to peek now
After his career as a football player, the now 54-year-old Frank also had a successful period as a trainer with the Amsterdammers. Between 2010 and 2016 he was head coach for the group and became champion no less than four times during his employment. Frank praises the current trainer of Ajax, Fransesco Farioli, for the way the club has climbed from a deep valley.
“It’s great what Ajax shows. If you are still eighteen and now at the top last year, then that is just incredibly handsome. Just sometimes it is not to peek,” says Frank about the current way of playing Ajax. “Then I come back to the culture of Ajax, because you also want to see beautiful football. That has been introduced to me. That is why it sometimes hurts your eyes.”
Frank De Boers Future plans
The 112-time international of Oranje itself has no direct plans to quickly get back to work as a head coach.
“I will be a grandfather for the third time soon. We are really looking forward to that. Nobody has to find me pathetic. I do fun things for Viaplay and for UEFA. Those are all fun things I do nowadays.”
