The foxes Berlin got an important away win in the handball Bundesliga and regained the top of the table at least until Sunday.

They won on Thursday evening at TSV Hannover-Burgdorf, sixth in the table, 33:32 (18:15). THW Kiel can overtake again on Sunday with a win in the top game against SC Magdeburg. The best Berlin throwers were Robert Weber with eleven and Lasse Andersson and Tim Freihöfe with five goals each.

The guests from the capital took the lead from the start. With great efficiency, they punished every technical error made by the home side in the forward movement. After a good five minutes they were already leading 5:2. The Berliners then had problems on the defensive, because Hanover was repeatedly successful with allusions to the district. Keeper Dejan Milosavljev could hardly get a ball at first.

So Hannover came back again, in the 22nd minute Lower Saxony equalized to 22:22. But the foxes were unimpressed. And now Milosavljev could shine with some important saves. With a final sprint in the first half, the Berliners were able to regain a three-goal lead at half-time.

Hannover then came out of the dressing room better and the foxes made too many mistakes. They also struggled with some controversial referee decisions. In the 38th minute, coach Jaron Siewert furiously called the time-out. And that helped, after a good 45 minutes the Berlin lead was five goals for the first time (27:22).

But in the final phase things got hectic again and Hannover equalized four minutes before the end to 29:29. But the Berliners showed strong nerves and still narrowly won.
