Fourteen people want to become mayor of Central Groningen.
They have responded to the vacancy created by the impending departure of Adriaan Hoogendoorn. The municipality announced this on Thursday.
Hoogendoorn announced in September that he would step down as mayor in July 2024. His six-year term of office will then be over.
In November, former member of Parliament Robert Pestman (58) from Groningen announced that he had applied for the office of mayor of Central Groningen.
