Founder Greet Luppes of the jubilant Jonkersvaart choir received a royal distinction

Greet Luppes, founder of Zangkoor Jonkersvaart, was royally decorated as a member of the Order of Orange Nassau by Mayor Ard van der Tuuk on Friday evening.

The mayor surprised Luppes with the award during the anniversary performance of the 40th anniversary of Zangkoor Jonkersvaart.

Luppes is the founder of the choir. She conducts and leads the choir, creates the music and programs. Luppes translates songs from the repertoire of and for the choir. The decorandus has also been active as a teacher in primary education for 42 years.

The choir is a connecting factor in the village. The choir members remain associated with the singing company for an average of 17 years. Four members have been singing along since the first rehearsal forty years ago.
