Instructor Tamara emphasizes that it is important for foster families to have a lot of time for the dogs. The puppies should not be alone for too long and still have to learn everything: behave in the city, at the station, and come immediately when they are called in release areas.
“Saying goodbye to a foster dog is never fun,” says Sophie with a lump in her throat. “But every year we have a reunion where someone also uses an assistance dog,” explains Sophie.
“A woman said there that her dog has already saved her life twice. And what is one day of sadness compared to a year of fun, but we cry when he leaves”.
