Williams initially does not focus on regular drivers Alexander Albon on the upcoming Formula 1 weekend in Barcelona.
As the racing team reported, Formula 2 pilot Victor Martins will take a seat in Albons FW47 on Friday. For the 23 -year -old Frenchman, it is the debut in the premier class of motorsport.

He stated: “I work hard to prepare myself as well as possible in order to use the time in the car maximum and make a valuable session for me and the team. I am very grateful to everyone at Williams for this opportunity and look forward to enjoying every second.”
Martin had tested in the run-up to the current Formula 1 season in Monza in a Williams FW45 from the 2023 season. So he prepared for his training mission, which he now receives in Barcelona.
“We are proud that Victor will complete his first Formula 1 session with Williams in Barcelona,” said Williams sports director Sven Smeets. “He also proves that he is a very talented driver, and this session is an important step in his career as part of our academy.”

Martins was “well prepared” for his Formula 1 debut through the tests and his work in the simulator, the Belgian emphasized, “and we look forward to seeing him in the garage this weekend”.
The Williams talent drove in Alpine’s youth program by 2024 and then switched to the British. Martins became the champion of Formula 3 in 2022 and is currently completing his third season in Formula 2, where he became the fifth best rookie in 2023.
Williams has already ticked off two out of four rookie inserts prescribed in the regulations with Martins’ “Promotion” in Barcelona. Because in Bahrain, Luke Browning piled the car from newcomer Carlos Sainz.
