Is one of the greatest changes in recent Formula 1 history in a few days? In the rumor mill it says: maybe. There it is speculated that Max Verstappen could announce his Red Bull subscription at the Grand Prix of Belgium in Spa.
The “Viaplay” commentator Nelson Valkenburg reported on the corresponding rumors in the current issue of the “Nailing the Apex” podcast.
The journalist explained that Mercedes and the four -time world champion come closer and closer. In addition, the rumor deals “that we should prepare for a kind of press event in Spa,” said Valkenburg, which at the same time restricted: “But that is all so unconfirmed. It is one of these rumors where we have to wait and see.”
Voter camp for Mercedes change
What the Dutch commentator confirmed for this: Many in the camp of “Super Max” would welcome a move to Toto Wolff and the silver arrows. “Many people around him want to leave Red Bull for Mercedes,” said Valkenburg.
In his opinion, the four -time world champion already listens to his environment, “but he cannot be dictated”. Means: In the end, Verstappen decides all alone, where he continues his Formula 1 career.

The rumors about a change of Verstappen to Mercedes had noticeably recorded speed in the past few weeks. Many insiders firmly expect a signature of the superstar in the silver arrows. It was only recently talking about another meeting between Wolff and Verstappen to clear the last hurdles on the way to collaboration.
