Formula 1: Hamilton rails against Red Bull dominance

Lewis Hamilton has railed against Red Bull’s dominance in Formula 1. From the point of view of the Mercedes driver, something urgently needs to change. With this, the record champion runs into open doors among observers.

He should know better, having been in similar spheres himself (at least in a similar way) with his Mercedes team in the past, but Lewis Hamilton has been vocal in his opposition to Red Bull’s continued dominance in Formula 1.

Hamilton, who currently holds fourth place in the drivers’ championship and is now second in the constructors’ championship with this year’s Black Arrows, doesn’t believe that any racing team will be able to get closer to the superior Austrian team around double world champion Max Verstappen in the next few years – at least until 2026, when the technical regulations are adjusted. And even then, that’s not guaranteed for Hamilton. If the Brit has his way, then something has to change fundamentally with a view to the future of the regulations.

“If we continue like this, maybe Ferrari will dominate in the next few years, or maybe McLaren, or maybe Mercedes will come out on top again, but I don’t think that’s the best thing for the fans,” the seven-time world champion raged at the British ” Channel 4″ and added, referring to the Red Bulls’ winning streak of winning every race this season: “Unfortunately, Red Bull could also seriously dominate in the next three seasons.”

Massa: Verstappen wins everything in Formula 1

Sergio Pérez was at the top of the podium in two Grands Prix in 2023, and Verstappen even won ten races, the last eight of them in a row. With 314 points, the Dutchman leads the World Championship standings almost unassailably ahead of Pérez, who is already 125 points behind the dominator.

Most recently, former Formula 1 driver Felipe Massa blew the same horn as Hamilton.

According to the Brazilian, who finished second in the 2008 Ferrari World Championship, Verstappen is invincible. “I think by 2026, when we will have the rule change, Verstappen will win everything,” he told Marca, adding: “Verstappen is superior, Red Bull is superior, so by 2026 we can expect Verstappen to have all title wins.”

Formula 1 is making a guest appearance in the Netherlands this weekend (25th to 27th August). In his homeland, Verstappen could bring in the eleventh win of the season.
