Formula 1 | Haas problems: Nico Hülkenberg sees “no short-term solution”

Tire wear and engine damage: Formula 1 driver Nico Hülkenberg does not see any quick answers to the problems of his Haas team.

“We work very hard on the weak points and try to fix them,” said Hulkenberg before the Hungarian Grand Prix (Sunday, 3 p.m. / Sky). Nevertheless, there is “perhaps no short-term solution, but we are confident that we will get the problems under control”.

Most recently, Haas complained about three serious defects in Ferrari’s power units within a very short period of time, and Hülkenberg and his teammate Kevin Magnussen always have to struggle with the high level of tire wear on their cars. In the team classification, Haas recently slipped to eighth place.

“Obviously the last two races have been tough for us, but we have to look ahead. The only thing we can and will do is work hard with the whole team and do everything we can to move forward come,” said team boss Günther Steiner: “It will take a while, but we already have a few things in mind that we want to implement after the summer races to solve our problems. We have to keep our heads up, which we will do , and carry on.”

After the race in front of the gates of Budapest, the classic in Spa is still on the program next week, after which Formula 1 will go on its summer break.
