2025 was not a year of joy for Ferrari in Formula 1. The reds mostly lagged behind. Lewis Hamilton in particular was disappointing. The head of the racing series shows the way out of the misery and emphasizes: Formula 1 wants a strong Ferrari team.

Stefano Domenicali doesn’t want to join in the swansong for the traditional racing team. Instead, the Formula 1 boss is notoriously confident about his former team.

“I’m a positive person. There’s no reason to cry, there’s no reason to always be negative. You need a plan,” Domenicali said on Sky Sports. The Italian has good connections with Scuderia. From 2008 to 2014 he served as their team boss.

“I’m sure that Fred Vasseur, Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have a plan and that’s the most important thing. I think it’s important to react, not to drown and to accept being fourth in the championship,” the Formula 1 boss continued.

“We want a strong Ferrari team. They deserve to be in a stronger position. They have to make sure there is the right energy and the right measures are taken because in 2026 everyone is talking about it but no one knows where they will be.”

Formula 1: Where will Ferrari end up in 2026?

“If you saw what happened last year, then you already know what will happen in the future. Stay tuned, because every race will bring with it further development,” Domenicali advertised the upcoming F1 year.

The new season starts from March 6th to 8th in Australia. Three winter tests have been scheduled beforehand: at the end of January in Barcelona, in mid-February in Bahrain and a week later another test series at the same location.

Domenicali hailed 2025 as a “phenomenal year” for Formula 1, with “great interest from the sport’s commercial partners” of which everyone “should be very proud”.

“We want to make sure we feel that energy now so we can continue to grow our sport at all levels because everyone is important to the growth of this sport,” he continued. “I expect everyone to feel this at all levels, that is my hope for 2026.”
