The Mercedes pilot started from six to the Suzuka race and then ensured a novelty.
Antonelli drove a long first stint. This resulted in the fact that he briefly cited the race in Japan because the competitors had already turned into the pit lane to change the tire.

When Antonelli headed to the box in the 32nd round, the old order was restored. Verstappen took the lead again in front of the McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piatri.
Verstappen then confidently won the first win of the season at the top.
Antonelli ended the race in a solid sixth place, just behind his team -mate George Russell.
In the driver’s ranking, the teenager with 30 points stands in fifth in front of Ferrari Duo Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton.
