Former PSV player Wim van den Dungen died at the age of 80. He played 247 games for the club from Eindhoven. PSV has announced the death of the Noord-Brabander from Budel on the club’s website.
The football player from Budel-Dorplein started his football career at SV Budel. PSV took over in 1966. He played eight seasons at the club from Eindhoven and was a defender.
In his term at the Eindhoven club, he scored fifteen goals. He made the most famous goal on Wednesday 28 April 1971 in the semi -final of the Europa Cup II. That was in the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium against Real Madrid (2-1). However, the goal was not enough to reach the final.
In 1974 he won the KNVB Cup with PSV. He ended his career at the Belgian KFC Diest.
