As a pupil, Terry Hendriks ended up at ZVV Zaandijk in 1965 and at the age of 16 he made the step to professional football. First at Go Ahead Eagles and later five more Dutch professional clubs followed. His time at HFC Haarlem was characterized by two loan spells. First, SC Heerenveen hired him in 1982 and a year later Telstar did the same.

In 1984, Hendriks ended his professional career. He remained active in amateur football, first with the Alkmaarse AFC’34 and later he returned to his old love ZVV Zaandijk. He was also head coach of this club in the 1990s.
