At HFC Haarlem, Roel de Graaff played together with Milan Berck Beelenkamp, among others. “Terrible news and you are very shocked. I got along well with Roel,” says 47-year-old Berck Beelenkamp about his death. “If you knew him a little better, he was always very sweet and nice. A good guy and football player. He also did a lot of extra training sessions and you saw that from his technique.”
Two periods Haarlem
De Graaff played two periods for HFC Haarlem. From 2005 to 2008 and in the 2009 – 2010 season. Zoutman started as a trainer of the Haarlemmers in the summer of 2007. “That was a difficult year for us. We ended up at the bottom. Roel was a bright spot that season. He had come over from Sparta. He became a fixed value and performed very well,” says 55 -year -old Zoutman.
“He then had a good season with many goals. It was not a killer. I thought it was more of a phlegmatic winger with an action,” adds Berck Beelenkamp.
