Former Donald Trump adviser Steve Bannon sentenced to four months in prison Abroad

Judge Carl Nichols also sentenced the former editor-in-chief of the radical right-wing Breitbart News to a $6,500 jail term. The 68-year-old was already found guilty in July, the sentence of the judge in Washington DC followed today.

The US Department of Justice had requested a six-month prison sentence and a fine of $200,000.

Bannon has refused to accept an invitation to testify before the parliamentary committee, nor has he responded to the request for documents to be made available to MPs. Bannon is expected to appeal.

Supporters of former President Donald Trump stormed the Capitol in January last year, where the US Congress was meeting at the time to formally determine the results of the presidential election. It was chaotic and violent, as you can see in the video below. Four people were killed and more than 100 injured in the storm.
