In Spain, the fire service continues to fight the forest fires tirelessly. According to TV channel RTVE, a fire about 60 kilometers northeast of Alicante has already destroyed about 3,500 hectares of nature reserve since Saturday. About 1,000 people had to leave their homes in the town of Pego as a precaution.
