The winter transfer window could be a momentous one for VfB Stuttgart, as Serhou Guirassy, by far the Swabians’ most successful goalscorer, may be about to say goodbye. According to reports from Italy, the top striker has reduced his salary demands so much that many clubs are likely to sit up and take notice.
The question of whether Serhou Guirassy will stay at VfB Stuttgart beyond the winter has not only concerned the Swabians for many weeks, but also numerous clubs that are trying to get the striker. For “only” 17.5 million euros he can leave the country in the upcoming transfer window – a real bargain considering his fantastic hit rate.
And it gets even better: According to “calciomercato”, the Guinean is willing to refrain from demanding high salaries. It says that the 27-year-old only demands a net salary of four million euros per season from his new club. At VfB he is currently only expected to earn slightly less, according to “Sport Bild” around 3.5 million euros.
Guirassy can earn twice as much at BVB
It is at least doubtful whether the second-best goalscorer of the current Bundesliga season really only wants to collect four million euros per year.
A few weeks ago, “Bild” speculated that a move within the league to BVB could bring him up to seven million euros a year. And the numerous Premier League clubs that are associated with Guirassy are also likely to prepare a significantly better offer.
Either way: At VfB they will face the coming weeks with some worries. With 19 goals in 16 competitive games, Guirassy is one of the guarantees for success in the current season. Especially thanks to his sensational ratings, the almost relegated team from last season can now suddenly dream of Europe. Replacing him seems almost impossible.
