For rent for 112,000 euros per week: a golden yacht | The best thing on the web

Can it be a little more? Then you can cruise in the Persian Gulf on a golden yacht. Price tag for this splendor: 112,000 euros per week.

The AK Royalty – designed in 2009 and 41 meters long – is owned by Australian tech millionaire Aaron Fidler. Last year the ex-engineer gave it his own twist, with the 24 carat gold layer as an absolute eye-catcher.

“The aim was to make the boat literally shine in the sun. It took a lot of time, money and energy to find the ideal mix between gold dust and boat paint,” says the Dubai resident.

Fidler did not miss a single detail during the impressive metamorphosis. Even the jet skis and underwater scooters on board were decorated in gold.

Twelve guests

The interior also got a completely new look, under the influence of his wife Kseniya. She preferred a calmer Fendi and Dior style, to counterbalance all the bling bling. But of course the glamorous finish remains intact, with, for example, very expensive statues of cats in the bar and the largest cabin.

The luxury yacht can accommodate a total of twelve guests, spread over five bedrooms. In addition, seven crew members are traveling, including a chef who used to prepare meals for the royal family of Abu Dhabi.

Also on offer: an inflatable trampoline, a water slide, an open-air cinema, a jacuzzi for six people, a DJ table,… So you won’t be bored right away.

Smaller model

Fidler deliberately opted for a slightly smaller model. “I used to work on boats of 60 to 65 meters long. I found it annoying that you always had to anchor so far from the coast. On boats with different floors it is not always easy to spend time together. I think it is important that partygoers can do their thing in a compact space.”

The AK Royalty can reach 60 km/h. Fidler guarantees that the throttle is opened often enough. “I absolutely hate slow travel,” he concludes.
