In the other top leagues in Europe, the champions are certain. But there are still a few interesting decisions to be made. In England, Leicester City faces relegation.
The Bundesliga offers a notable exception this season. In each of the nine games on the last matchday, at least one team is still at stake. Even the championship race is exciting again, in contrast to the other top leagues in Europe. In France there is still a theoretical chance of a sensation.

Manchester City are champions of England again, although for much of the season it looked like Arsenal could pull off the big upset. The “Gunners” console themselves with qualifying for the Champions League. Before the last matchday on Sunday (May 28th, 2023), Newcastle United and Manchester United also have a place in the European elite league.
It is also already certain that Liverpool FC and Brighton & Hove Albion will take part in the Europa League. Aston Villa (58 points, against Brighton) and Tottenham Hotspur (57, at Leeds United) are playing for their place in the Europa Conference League.
With FC Southampton, a relegation is already certain. The other two relegation places are currently Leeds United (-27 goals) and Leicester City (-18), the sensational champions of 2016. Both have bad cards, as Everton, who are two points better, have a home game against AFC Bournemouth. Leicester host West Ham United and would win past Everton on goal difference should the Toffees not win.

FC Barcelona has long since celebrated its championship in Spain. Before the penultimate day of play, it is already clear that Real Madrid and city rivals Atlético will again take part in the Champions League. Real Sociedad has the very best chances of coming fourth in La Liga to the bulging money pots.
The Basques from San Sebastian are five points ahead of FC Villarreal, who have at least a place in the Europa League.
The relegation battle is exciting. FC Elche must certainly be in the Segunda Division, but before that it can still hit seven teams, including FC Valencia, which is 13th in the table. only two points more than Vallodolid in 18th in the first relegation zone.
Series A
SSC Napoli has been champions in Italy for weeks. Lazio have secured a place in the Champions League. Inter (66 points) have a very good chance of qualifying for the “premier class” via the league two games before the end.
Fourth-placed Milan (64) currently has three points more than Atalanta and four more than Roma, who are up against Sevilla in the Europa League final and would go into the Champions League with a win.
Juventus is currently only seventh in the table due to the ten points deduction, but still has at least a theoretical chance of finishing fourth.
With Sampdoria and US Cremonese, two clubs must surely go down to Serie B. Hellas Verona (30 points), Spezia Calcio (31) and US Lecce (33) make up the third relegated team.
League 1
With Matchday 37 approaching, Paris Saint-Gemain indeed need a point to become champions in France again.
Chasers RC Lens have a five-point lead over Olympique Marseille and are all but certain of a place in the Champions League. According to the current status, “OM” should be in the playoffs for the European elite league.
Angers SCO, AC Ajaccio and Estac Troyes have been relegated. FC Nantes (33 points), AJ Auxerre (34) and RC Strasbourg (39), who host PSG on matchday 37, are at risk.
