The US sporting goods retailer Foot Locker Inc. opened a new branch in the Dutch metropolis of Utrecht on December 5th. It follows the “Reimagined Store” concept, which celebrated its premiere in April in the US city of New Jersey. In Utrecht it was used for the second time in Europe. Foot Locker opened a “Reimagined Store” in Paris in May.

“Compared to previous formats, the ‘Reimagined Stores’ focus on an individual customer experience, combining modern design with personalized services and thus creating a completely new shopping experience,” the retailer explained on Wednesday.

The new opening in Utrecht was part of the “Lace Up” strategy that Foot Locker presented in 2023. “The plan focuses on further developing the global store presence and includes the introduction of new formats, such as the ‘Reimagined Stores’, as well as an extensive refresh program of existing stores,” the retailer explained. The goal is to bring two-thirds of the Foot Locker and Kids Foot Locker branches up to “state-of-the-art standards” by 2025.
