The Foo Fighters played their first of two German concerts on the “Take Cover World Tour 2026” in Munich on June 18th. In the Allianz Arena, the bass drum was kicked instead of a football – people of all ages gathered in the stadium to experience their music heroes live.
A new chapter becomes a classic
Dave Grohl patched together a new piece of rock ‘n’ roll from the remains of Nirvana: The former drummer started a new chapter with the Foo Fighters in 1994 after Kurt Cobain’s death. This chapter is no longer in its infancy, but has become a classic in its own right.
Something old, something new
At the concert in Munich they played something old, something new, something borrowed – but only the open sky above the stadium was blue. The evening ranged widely from reworked hits to tracks from the new album.
The show was opened by two supporting bands: the Inhalers and Otoboke Beaver. Afterwards, the Foo Fighters put an end to the long-pent-up anticipation. The first chords of “All My Life” ushered in three hours of rock in overdrive mode. Only for a detour to the B stage and a semi-acoustic interlude with “Wheels” did they go down a gear instrumentally. Encores such as “The Teacher”, “Exhausted” and “Everlong” brought the evening to a close.

The impressions of the Foo Fighters concert were as diverse as the audience itself.
