Floris van Bommel, one of the most traditional shoe brands in Europe, is strategically reorganizing its sales. Against the background of the ongoing decline and loss of German leading trade fairs, the family company increasingly shifts its trade fair presence to international platforms. Participation in the Micam in Milan becomes a visible start of a global expansion strategy.
“Unfortunately, all leading fairs or larger trade fair formats have long since disappeared,” explains Pepijn van Bommel, Commercial Director. Nevertheless, the company remains present at relevant order dates in Germany – even if it only has regional radiance.
Focus on global presence: international expansion as a fifth sales column
At the beginning of the 2026 season, Floris van Bommel opens its proven sales channels-retail, wholesale, e-commerce and dropshipping-internationally in the course of a targeted international expansion. The aim is to set up long -term partnerships with distributors and trading partners outside the previous core markets in Germany, Benelux, Austria and Switzerland. “We take this step out of a stable market position. Our collections are mature and clearly positioned in the international premium segment,” emphasizes Pepijn van Bommel.

European production, proven quality
Despite internationalization, the responsibility for quality and origin remains a central brand core: 20% of the collection continues to arise in their own manufacture in the Dutch Moergestel, 80% for long -standing partners in Portugal. The materials – the finest Italian leather and exclusive textiles – underline the brand’s premium claim.
Strong tradition, clear future vision
With a stable annual turnover of around 60 million euros (as of 2024), 150 employees and own retail areas at eleven locations in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands, Floris van Bommel is well set up for the next step. The company connects 300 years of craft tradition with modern brand management – and is ready to conquer new international markets.
